I, like most of us, get a wee little hankering for something sweet after dinner, especially something nourishing and warm like this on a cold Winter’s night in Melbourne.
Cacao is a the ‘raw’, unrefined form of cocoa, and it is packed full of antioxidants. Cinnamon is has anti-inflammatory properties and is good for stabilising blood glucose levels. Almond milk is just delicious, a decent source of calcium but also lower in fat and calories than cow’s milk or soy. You can use whatever milk you like in this, it will taste just as good!
1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
1/2 tablespoon cacao powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey (or to taste)
Heat all of these slowly on the stove until warm. Drink up and get cosy 🙂
* Apologies for the terrible photo quality btw, working on my images, I promise.
